Buddies in Bad Times Theatre is looking for volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors.
Role of the Board
The Board is charged with ensuring that Buddies in Bad Times Theatre is a thriving, vital theatre company, both in its internal operations and in its external position and profile in the broader community. This means it is responsible for ensuring that Buddies is being managed and operated in ways that are healthy and sustainable. Some of the Board’s particular responsibilities include: hiring/evaluating both the Artistic Director and General Manager; approving the annual season’s activities in line with the theatre’s mandate; approving the annual budget and providing financial oversight; participating in strategic planning; and determining and evaluating progress towards the theatre’s long-range strategic plans.
The Board is made up of committed volunteers with a passion for Buddies, who bring their skills, knowledge, and experiences to the table for the benefit of the theatre.
We encourage all interested individuals to apply, and aim to have a Board that reflects all aspects of the diversity of our queer communities, including two-spirit, QPOC, migrants, and trans identified folks.
To apply, please send us a short written resume with your relevant experience and contact information, as well as your responses to all of the questions below. Your responses can be in any format (e.g., written cover letter, audio recording, video, poem), provided they are accessible on a run-of-the-mill Mac or PC.
- Tell us about your connection to, interest in, and/or passion for Buddies and/or other queer theatre communities
- Tell us what skills, knowledge, and experiences you have that you can bring to the table
- The Board developed an “Inclusion Statement” to guide its activities as a Board. Tell us what you think about this statement – and feel free to challenge any part of it.
Please submit your application by Wednesday, November 20, 2019, to the attention of the Board of Directors at email@example.com.
