June 15 at 8:00pm // The Cabaret // Free
presented by The Cabaret Company
A pride tradition that turns the stage over to the artists, misfits, and rebels for an open mic night like no other.
This year at Free Jane, there will be a staged reading of Aquarius by François Macdonald. In April 1975, the Aquarius bathhouse in downtown Montreal was firebombed, killing three patrons, two of whom were never identified or claimed. Aquarius tells the story of two men who met in the bathhouse that night. Originally conceived as part of the 2016/17 Emerging Creators Unit and performed at The 38th Rhubarb Festival earlier this year, Aquarius returns to the stage in a different format.
