A DISCORD AND DIN THEATRE PRODUCTION

An explosive feminist text that unfolds as a series of provocations, tearing apart the language, structures, and ideas that keep women trapped within a patriarchal system. Firebrand indie company Discord and Din Theatre offers a fresh perspective on this irreverent, wildly experimental, and internationally-celebrated play: a bawdy, ferocious, and galvanizing call to action for a new feminism, one that redefines the way we think about womanhood in the 21st century.

RUSH TICKETS

All Performances (except previews) Pay-What-You-Can

Rush Tickets go on sale at noon for that day’s performance and can be purchased until 7:00pm on weekdays and 2:30pm on Sundays, or until they sell out – whichever comes first. Rush Tickets are offered as Pay-What-You-Can, which means you pick the price. If cost is a barrier, this is your chance to get an affordable ticket. If you are able to pay more, this is your chance to increase your support for the work on stage and ensure it stays affordable for those who need it.

Rush Tickets are generally only available in-person at our box office, and we recommend getting here early for more popular shows as these tickets can sell fast. However, if getting down here in the middle of the day presents a barrier – accessible transportation, childcare, etc – simply call the box office at 416-975-8555 and we’ll hold up to two Rush Tickets for you that you can purchase when you arrive to see the show.

Discord and Din Theatre produces Canadian and International plays that are artistically outcast and are created outside conventional narratives, seeking to push the boundaries of traditional theatrical conventions. We are particularly interested in theatre that is feminist, political, and activist, that focuses on stories and voices that are often excluded from mainstream narratives.

Discord and Din Theatre launched with the premiere of Mine by Jenna Harris at the Next Stage Theatre Festival in January 2015. In August 2015, Discord and Din produced This is Where We Live by Canadian-born Australian playwright Vivienne Walshe at the SummerWorks Performance Festival. Most recently, Discord and Din produced the Canadian premiere of British playwright Cordelia Lynn’s gut-wrenching Lela & Co. in association with Seventh Stage Productions at The Theatre Centre (Dora Nomination for Outstanding Performance).

Discord and Din is thrilled that its inaugural play Mine is also part of the Buddies 2019/20 season, in a brand new production directed by Evalyn Parry.
