and yesterday someone said to me our bodies have never been stranger to us than they are now and that hit kinda hard. like we’ve become so separate from them that it’s as though we’re just these brain creatures riding around in weird miraculous meat robots that we have to feed and clean and lubricate and it’s pretty ok except they make all these magnificently embarrassing secretions and we’ve got to try to make that happen in the appropriately assigned space where those malfunctions are allowed and then we wipe them off and dress them back up and we all agree that’s somehow normal but then i see you lying there naked with the sun dancing over the hairs on your…and i just [inhale] mmm—

this body
this booty
this glistening
this glorious
the vivid space between your flesh and mine
the violent state between your flesh and mine
this sticky skin
this singular spot i trace my tongue and the scent of you is a syrup i could drench myself in
bone my bones and flesh my flesh (oh please baby)

you know in german they just use one word for meat and flesh they’re just all the same linguistically and idk man there’s something about that that just—yeah it’s jarring maybe to erase that cognitive distinction but once you’ve got your mouth around it isn’t it all just hunger in the end?
