The Bruisers’ is a non-secular HALLELUJAH, as in: “WHOO-HOO, THIS MIGHT SOON BE OVER!”
You are invited to a musical potluck, art show & sale. With Lily Frost, guest solo artists and featuring the self-described “bad news bears of choirs'” take on songs by Leonard Cohen, Christina Aguilera, REM and more. A soul soothing antidote to three years of hurdles and uncertainty. Some choir Members will be joining us in person for the first time! DESIGNED TO STIR THE SPIRIT WITHIN AS WE SAY GOODBYE TO 2020, 2021 AND 2022 AND LOOK FORWARD.
To complement the evening’s stage program we’ll be showing (and selling!) creations by local visual artists — many of them Bruisers. A digital preview of the works up for sale will be posted, right here, in January.
A fundraiser in support of The Bruised Years Choir. The Bruisers begin the week on a high note, meeting every Monday to sing. The group has earned oodles of fans for their heartfelt performances at the Luminato Festival, Toronto City Hall, Invictus Games and more recently at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. All of the art on display and displayed onstage created by artists with lived experience — many of them Members of Toronto’s Workman Arts, a seminal arts organization that helped to launch the BYC in 2015.
Our staff have been monitoring provincial and city regulations, and have used this information to create a COVID-19 Safety Package for visitors, artists, and staff while at Buddies. Additionally, all guests will be required to wear a mask to attend Buddies events.
