Buddies in Bad Times, known to friends as Buddies, is a queer organization: for us queerness is a political/aesthetic orientation, more than (just) an identitarian subcategory, our queerness is oppositional, disobedient, and centres and celebrates otherness and radical outsiders.

ROLE:

The Social Media Coordinator is crucial to shaping Buddies’ unruly queer public identity, and designing and implementing the experience of those who enter Buddies. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing content for, monitoring, and maintaining all social media channels for @BuddiesTO and the organization’s website. We’re looking for someone who’s thirsty to work with data and has the creative audacity to tell the story of our sexy, transgressive, queer work and gather a crowd around it.

HOW TO APPLY:

We prioritize applications from folks from equity-deserving groups, including those who identify as Indigenous, racialized, Trans, Nonbinary, Queer, Disabled, Neurodiverse, MAD and intersections of those identities. We enthusiastically invite submissions from individuals from a diversity of performing arts practices.

Please apply via https://airtable.com/app5KmqiLIIa3eMco/pagdCDJLLZlCED3kn/form by July 17, 2024 by 10:00am. We will review up to a maximum five minutes of content per applicant. That content may be a written, visual, audio, or video (or a combination therein). In general, we want to learn about you, understand your work history and how it relates to this role, and why you want to work at Buddies.

We are committed to inclusive, low barrier recruitment and selection processes and work environments – if you require accommodations at any point in the application or recruitment process please submit them in confidence to hiring@buddiesinbadtimes.com – Joel Klein monitors this email.
