Dear Artists and Buddies Supporters,
My name is Spencer Charles Smith and I am the research intern for the Rhubarb Festival this year at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. I am a playwright/dramaturge and have been obsessed with the history and evolution of queer performance in Canada for several years now, making it a focus in my graduate studies at U of T, and I am delighted to be able to continue my research under the roof of 12 Alexander St. We are currently building an archive of the last 33 years of Rhubarb and I am reaching out to you in hopes that you will be able to help us fill in some of the holes within the research.
We are seeking pictures and programs from the last thirty-three years of the Rhubarb Festival, with an emphasis on the first twenty years: 1979-1999.
If you have photos and/or promotional material from any of the early Rhubarb projects and events, and you are willing to share them with us, we would be very grateful.
