Native Earth Performing Arts, in partnership with Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, introduce: The 2-Spirit Cabaret
An evening featuring 2-Spirit, Trans and Queer-identified Indigenous Artists! Please join us for a showcase of spoken word and performance, taking place November 11, 2016 at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: August 1, 2016.
Please submit a one-page Letter of Interest describing your proposed performance piece and its connection to the 2-Spirit, Queer or Trans experience and identity. Please also include with your submission:
- Name, address, phone number and email address;
- High resolution headshot in JPG, PNG or EPS format;
- 100 word bio;
- Your Indigenous identity and/or Nation;
- A writing sample (up to 5 pages) or video (up to 5 minutes) for the proposed piece.
About: The 2-Spirit Cabaret, part of the 29th annual Weesageechak Begins to Dance festival, is a new initiative which seeks to celebrate and unite 2-Spirit, Queer, Trans and Indigenous artists, individuals and allies.
PLEASE NOTE: All applicants and associated artists must identify as Indigenous, queer/2-Spirit and be available between November 2nd and November 11th 2016 for rehearsal and performance.
